About RecruiterOpps

The most unnerving part of a job hunt is often not knowing who the recruiter on the other side really is. RecruiterOpps exists to take the guesswork out of that — using real experiences to help the next job seeker.

What we do

RecruiterOpps is a community for job seekers in Hong Kong. Members share first-hand experiences of dealing with recruiters, search firms and in-house HR, and can read other people's accounts and ratings before deciding who to engage with.

The platform is run by the RecruiterOpps team, based in Hong Kong. We are not affiliated with any recruitment agency, search firm or employer, and we do not accept payment to change rankings or remove negative accounts.

How a story gets published

1. A signed-in member submits their experience, including a rating, what happened, and any supporting attachments.

2. Every submission is reviewed by a person before it goes live, to check for personal attacks, leaked private information, or claims that read as unfounded.

3. Once published, other members can comment and vote, which surfaces the accounts people find most useful.

Anonymity and privacy

Stories can be posted anonymously, because job seekers are often worried about their own prospects. Anonymity hides your name publicly only — we retain the submission record internally so we can handle disputes or abuse.

Please share only what you experienced yourself, and never post someone else's phone number, address, ID number or other personal details.

What we don't do

We cannot verify every account individually. Content here reflects members' personal experiences and opinions, not the views of this site, and is not legal or career advice.

The rankings are calculated automatically from the ratings members submit. Where a recruiter has only a small number of stories on file, that score carries limited weight — please read it with that in mind.

If you are named

If you are the subject of an account and believe it is inaccurate or defamatory, you can contact us to appeal with supporting evidence. We will review it and remove or amend the content where there is good reason to.

Equally, any member who sees content that breaks the rules can flag it using the report function on each story page.
